Carpe Juvenis: Then and Now

Carpe Juvenis: Then and Now

When Carpe Juvenis first started in 2014, it was an online publication focused on youth empowerment. With articles ranging from culture to skills to Professional and Youth Spotlights, the goal was to empower and inspire young people. With over a dozen contributors, we published articles daily, our community steadily growing over the years.

We’re excited to continue growing our Carpe Juvenis community. Now, we’re living out our mission of empowering young people, but through books. We believe that now, more than ever, we need to focus on our youth. We need to show children what it means to be a citizen of the world so they can help create and shape a more represented, inclusive, and equitable world.

Hearing others’ stories and experiences as a child better helps them develop into empathetic and more self-aware adults. We are dedicated to publishing and promoting diverse and inclusive stories and authors.

Our first book, Youth’s Highest Honor: Your Guide to Earning the Congressional Award and Building Life Skills, is a guide for earning The Congressional Award, the highest award given to youth by Congress. The program gives young people in the United States the opportunity to become engaged leaders through volunteering, personal development, physical fitness, and planned expedition trips.

Youth’s Highest Honor helps young people optimize their Congressional Award experiences by explaining the program areas and guidelines step-by-step.

Coming up

We are excited to share more about our next book in the coming months. Be the first to know about updates by signing up for our Carpe Juvenis newsletter.

Also, if you’re interested in books and topics that cover a broader spectrum of mixed experiences, we invite you to subscribe to our Talking Louis newsletter, which includes our weekly newsletter, The Mixed Bag. The Mixed Bag is filled with recommended articles, resources, movies, podcasts, and books intended to spark conversation around the mixed experience.

We’re here to celebrate all things mixed, and we’d love for you to join us as we work to amplify the voices of those who have mixed experiences and empower both children and adults through self-identification.

As always, seize your youth!
